wax stripes
Wax Stripe is an ongoing series of experimental works combining wax and pigments on paper or fabric.
The series reflects my fascination with matter and its constant potential for transformation. Sensitive to heat and time, wax is inherently fragile. Working with such a delicate and unpredictable material requires a certain humility: I can give it form, but I cannot fully control what becomes of it. The way the wax folds, cracks, melts or gradually falls apart, transforming the pigments I have embedded within it, is an integral part of the work itself.
Rooted in my exploration of impermanence, Wax Stripe is an invitation to embrace the ephemeral nature of things and to find beauty in their fragility, in what changes, deteriorates and cannot be preserved forever.
